What This Means for You
Mental health is complex, and for many individuals, therapy alone isn’t always enough. With our new PMHNP on board, we are now able to provide integrated care, combining therapy with evidence-based psychiatric medication support — all under one roof.
Our PMHNP is licensed and trained to:
-Conduct psychiatric assessments and diagnoses
-Prescribe and manage medications
-Monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed
-Collaborate closely with your therapist for holistic care
-
Who Might Benefit from Seeing a PMHNP
Medication management may be a helpful part of your treatment plan if you are experiencing:
-Depression or persistent low mood
-Anxiety, panic attacks, or excessive worry
-ADHD or difficulty with focus
-Mood disorders such as bipolar disorder
-Sleep disturbances
-PTSD or trauma-related symptoms
-OCD or intrusive thoughts
Whether you're already working with one of our therapists or are new to our practice, we’re here to help you explore whether medication may support your mental health journey.
-
What to Expect
Our approach is collaborative, compassionate, and person-centered. Your first appointment with our PMHNP will involve a comprehensive evaluation of your symptoms, medical history, and personal goals. Together, we’ll develop a treatment plan that supports your unique needs — whether that includes medication, therapy, lifestyle changes, or a combination.
Seamless, Coordinated Care
Because your well-being is our top priority, our PMHNP works closely with our licensed therapists to ensure a coordinated and supportive experience. If you’re already in therapy here, your therapist and PMHNP will collaborate (with your consent) to align your care. If you’re new to our practice, we can help you get started with both services.
-
Why Consider Seeing a PMHNP Instead of a Psychiatrist
Both PMHNPs and psychiatrists are licensed to diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medications, and provide treatment — but there are a few key differences. PMHNPs are advanced practice registered nurses with specialized training in psychiatric and mental health care. They often bring a nursing-based, holistic approach to treatment, which emphasizes not only symptom relief but also overall well-being.
In many cases, PMHNPs are more accessible in terms of appointment availability and wait times, while still offering high-quality, evidence-based care. Our PMHNP works as part of our integrated team, making it easy to coordinate your care with your therapist in a seamless, supportive environment.

Psychiatric medication management involves evaluating your mental health needs, determining whether medication may be helpful, and carefully prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting medications over time. Our goal is to support your mental wellness safely and effectively as part of a comprehensive care plan.
-
Medication management services are provided by a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). With specialized training across the lifespan, our PMHNP offers compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s needs.
-
Not everyone needs medication. During your psychiatric evaluation, we work together to explore your symptoms, goals, and concerns. Medication is only recommended when it’s appropriate and beneficial, and lifestyle strategies and therapy are always considered as part of an integrative approach.
-
We commonly support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and other mental health concerns. Each treatment plan is personalized, recognizing that no two people experience mental health challenges the same way.
-
Your initial evaluation is a collaborative conversation focused on understanding your mental health history, current concerns, lifestyle factors, and goals. This appointment allows us to determine whether medication may be helpful and to create an individualized plan of care that feels right for you.
-
No. Medication management is designed to complement counseling, not replace it. Many people find that combining therapy with medication provides more balanced and lasting support for their mental health.
-
Follow-up appointments allow us to monitor how you’re feeling, assess medication effectiveness, and make adjustments if needed. The frequency depends on your individual plan and how you’re responding to treatment.
-
Absolutely. We believe in an integrative approach to mental health care. Along with medication, we discuss lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress, nutrition, and daily routines that can play a meaningful role in your overall well-being.
-
When prescribed and monitored appropriately, psychiatric medications are considered safe and effective for many people. We prioritize patient education, ongoing monitoring, and open communication to address concerns, side effects, and progress.
-
Yes. Your voice matters. We believe in shared decision-making and encourage active patient involvement. Treatment plans are developed collaboratively, respecting your preferences, comfort level, and long-term goals.
